AL Now and Blume Studio

At the start of February we launched AL Now – our new two-hour delivery service that gives local London businesses a better, faster way to deliver to their customers.

Customer shopping habits are likely to be permanently changed as a result of COVID-19, AL Now is our way of helping London businesses adapt to new trading realities. Unlike other delivery services which only offer all-day delivery windows, AL Now lets London businesses choose a specific two hour delivery slot for their customers.

Since before the launch, we’ve been working with some fantastic local businesses and one of those is Earlsfield florist, Blume Studio. The challenges of 2020 led Blume to evolve their offering, resulting in the opening of their physical store in South London – this is where you will find homewares and gifts, alongside Blume bunches and stems. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the founder Elspeth Tull had to close Blume and was only able to sell her beautiful bouquets through a click and collect service. The introduction of AL Now means that Blume Studio flowers and gifts can be in homes within a 4-mile radius within two hours of purchasing.

We spoke with Blume Studio founder, Elspeth Tull, to find out how AL Now has been working for her business:

“Blume opened its first concept store in August 2020 as a pivot from the wedding and events industry. We’ve cemented ourselves into the local community, serving our customers with their floral needs.”

“The introduction of AL Now to our offering helps us reach customers quickly when we’re too busy to deliver ourselves. This was especially helpful on the run up to Valentine’s Day and looking forward to Mother’s Day.”

Restrictions are set to ease as we approach summer, however, we think buying behaviours have changed for good. More and more consumers are turning their backs on retail giants and are becoming local loyalists. That’s why we created AL Now – to give smaller, independent London businesses a simple, speedy way to deliver goods to their customers.
